This defense budget cannot take acrosstheboard cuts of more than 40 percent in many of our defense accounts with the Middle East crisis going on. Second. the balance of the sequester would come from the nondefense discretionary funds. It would mean that the war on drugs would suffer a serious setback. immigration and customs would be reducedcustoms by about onehalf. We would have acrosstheboard cuts on environmental protection. Fisheries programs. so vital to my State. would be seriously cut back.
