Session #101 · 1989–91

Speech #1010247557

He was on his way home because fatigue had set in. even though there is more business that we are really struggling to try to finish. Mr. President. I think the disagreements that have been articulated on this floor and in the House of Representatives really reflects the very deep disagreements in America about who should pay taxes. Nobody wants to pay taxes in this country. I recall one of the earliest comments my father made to me was quoting Will Rogers. My father loved America. He was an immigrant. His great regret was that he could not pay more taxes. He would have liked to have had a bigger income to pay more taxes.
