Session #101 · 1989–91

Speech #1010246297

I plan to continue that effort with renewed vigor and I look forward to the day when we reverse todays unfortunate step and then move beyond section 901 to completely remove ideological exclusions from our laws. Mr. President. I ask unanimous consent to have printed in the RECORD a letter concerning this issue sent to the distinguished chairman of the Immigration Subcommittee. Senator KENNEDY. by Senator KASSEBAUM. myself and four of our colleagues on the Committee on Foreign Relations. I would also like to recognize the very great contribution that Senator KASSEBAUM has made on this issue. She has been at the forefront of those battling to restore our commitment to free speech to our immigration statutes and I look forward to working with her on this issue in the coming months.
