Still it is flawed because of its rifleshot characters. But. worst of all it speaks to an America afraid to compete. afraid to be active in an open. competitive environment. It reeks of xenophobia. protectionism. and fear. It is an ugly omen of a reduced. diminished future for the United States unless we are willing to act like Americans have always acted. being willing to compete in free markets. This Is an amendment unworthy of this body.
