Speech #1010222290

It is clear that until community organizations and public health agencies have this detailed data. their planning efforts will continue to suffer. They desperately need to know what the health problems of the Asian Pacific community are. and where to target their limited resources to address them. The Asian Pacific Americans with the greatest need for health services and education are the recent Immigrants. always a difficult group to reach. Efforts to educate them about basic health care are vital. and it is clear that these educational campaigns need to be linguistically and culturally appropriate. In order to provide health care services or design and execute health education campaigns. community and public health agencies need the services of translators and bilingual health professionals.
