We are renovating. replacing. and expanding existing facilities to allow the efficient processing of passengers. vehicles and cargo across our border. We are constructing new facilities at some of the busiest ports simply overwhelmed by the sheer volume of traffic. This bill recommends the funding needed to complete all projects started under this program and to construct inspection facilities at new border crossings which may be opened by the United States and Mexico in the near future. This funding is essential to our economic future. Trade with Mexico is acclerating at a rapid pace and we can no longer wait to finish this work.
