Speech #1010187608

Norodom Ranariddh. has about 18.000. The SOC number 40.000 to 60.000. The weakness of each group and the internal competition for control complicates the already difficult task of reaching a satisfactory settlement amenable to all parties. The country that all fight to control has been the site of almost continuous conflict since the early 1960s. The population has been scattered through out the globe with at least 175.000 Cambodians living in the United States. Refugee camps inside Thailand and controlled by various factions contain over 300.000. At times it has almost ceased to exist as a recognizable state. Cambodia is still far from recovering.
