I am proud to be a cosponsor of House Concurrent Resolution 264. which calls on President Bush to urge President Gorbachev to publicly condemn the growth of antiSemitism in the Soviet Union and to adopt any measures to protect Jewish c.tzens in the Soviet Union from harassment and persecution from nationalist groups such as Pamyat. I hope this resolution passes swiftly. Mr. Speaker. the Soviet Government should act now to ensure the protection of Soviet Jews and the safe departure of any Jewish citizen who may wish to emigrate to another land.
