Fares was born in 1925 in Kobayath. Akkar. North Lebanon. In 1940. he graduated from St. Elias College. Tripoli. as a student of humanities. Then In 1944 he graduated from St. Josephs College with a M.A. and B.A. In philosophy. arts and languages. Later he attended the International University of Theology in Rome where he was ordained to the priesthood in 1950. He immigrated to the United States in 1969.
