Mr. Speaker. I rise today to honor Mrs. Margarita Calvo. an exemplary teacher from my hometown of Flint. MI. Mrs. Calvo is being honored by the citywide bilingual migrant parent advisory council of the Flint School District for her many years of outstanding service to the Flint community. Margarita Calvo came to the United States as a refugee in 1960 from her native Cuba. She received her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Oklahoma. and undertook graduate studies at the University of Oklahoma as well as Eastern Michigan University and the University of MichiganFlint. Mrs. Calvo received her bilingual endorsement from Saginaw Valley State University.
