Mr. President. today I am submitting a private immigration bill for Dr. Luis Jain. his wife and three young children. This family is in a unique situation. Dr. Jain is from the Marshall Islands and does not need a visa to enter the United States. His wife and children are citizens of the Philippines. Mrs. Jain is here on a tourist visa which has been renewed twice. Her most recent request for renewal has been denied and her visa is due to expire on December 12. 1989. Their three children are here on student visas and are allowed to stay until 1992 and 1993. If Mrs. Jain is forced to leave the country. the family will be separated while Dr.
