Speaker. today I rise to pay special tribute to the Perrigo Co. of Allegan. MI. Perrigo is celebrating its 100th year as a distributor of health care products. I am extremely proud to stand on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives to salute this outstanding company. In 1880. two New York immigrants. Luther and Charles Perrigo settled in Allegan County. It was Luther Pergo who. while serving as the administrator of a general store and apple drying business. realized that there was a pressing need for an efficient method of production for medicinal aidsan idea which transformed the history of home remedies.
