Session #100 · 1987–89

Speech #1000023279

I wish my colleagues success with the symbolic effort they are undertaking during the holiday. Hopefully the Matzoh and Haggadahsthe books telling the story of Passoverthat are being delivered to the Soviet Embassy and to Soviet officials will demonstrate the United States strong opposition to the Soviets inhumane actions. Naur Meiman is one of the refuseniks who has been waiting for years to emigrate in order to freely practice his religion. He has fought against Soviet harassment of Jews and prohibition of the Jewish religion for over 10 years. and is an original founder of the Helsinki Watch Commission. In addition to the discrimination Nauru has been subjected to as a refusenik. he is trying to adjust to the loss of his dear wife Inna.
