They are symbolic of all the refuseniks who have been Indicted for being Jewish and who are imprisoned for demanding their freedom. They unfortunately join the Slepaks. ParItakys and Nudels whose names have already been etched in the collective conscience of the Congress. Because of their plight. it is morally imperative that we speak out and express our solidarity with the hundreds of thousands of Soviet Jews. who have been denied religious freedom and their right to emigrate. Yes. we in the Congress intend to persevere and continue to tell the world of the desperate hope and terrible oppression of Soviet Jewry. Blessed with our American liberties. we will continue to speak out for those deprived of liberty.
