I am pleased that we have finally taken this step. I think it is a great day for the American people. I think that we have an obligation to do something about illegal immigration in this country. Congress has faced up to the issue of controlling our borders in a fair and sensible way. and I hope that shortly we will get on about the job of passing this bill and send it to the President for his signature.
