I would like to commend to the attention of the Members of the House of Representatives the accompanying article. written by Chilton Williamson. Jr.. that recently appeared in the National Review. This article addresses the issue of amnesty as contained in H.R. 3810. the Immigration Control and Legalization Amendments Act of 1986. and highlights the studies of Donald L. Huddle. professor of economics at Rice University. as they pertain to the effect of amnesty on the United States. economically. culturally. and demographically. This article was brought to my attention by "Americans for Immigration Control" and I would like to recognize them for the significant contribution they have made to the entire debate on immigration policy. I urge my colleagues to consider the implications of the amnesty provisions contained in H.R. 3810 and to reject them when the bill comes to the floor for consideration. [From the National Review.
