Session #99 · 1985–87

Speech #990244370

The Meimans are an elderly and ailing couple who only want to emigrate so that they can obtain cancer treatment for Inna and reunite with their family in the West. The Soviets have denied them this inalienable right. taking away Innas only chance of survival. The Meimans are good and caring people. They have not done anything illegal. Their only "crime" is that they voiced their desire to leave the Soviet Union. For that reason. Naum and Inna have been sentenced to life without freedom In the country they choose to leave. I strongly urge the Soviet Government to grant exit visas to Naum and Inna Melman so they may live in peace and free of pain in Israel.e
