Wisner became Officer in Charge of Tunisian Affairs. in which capacity he served until 1971. That year. he was named Chief of the Economic/Commercial Section at the American Embassy in Tunis. He returned again to Washington in 1974. and spent the following 3 years working at various State Department jobs in planning. political affairs. and refugee problems. Frank Wisners career has been highly successful. and he is well experienced in Northern African affairs. a fact that will be of great value to the United States as he embarks on his service as Ambassador to Egypt.
