He did not learn that his application was denied until early 19823 years after the fact. The sole reason for the refusal was that he had "no grounds to apply for an emigration visa." It is no wonder that Anatoly applied for a visa. with the history of conflict he and his family have had with the Soviet Government. In 1932. his father. Solomon. was arrested and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
