Mr. President. I am delighted that today the Senate confirmed Jonathan Moore. a long time Massachusetts resident. to be the U.S. Coordinator for Refugee Affairs. In nominating Jonathan Moore. the administration has shown uncommon wisdom and foresight and in confirming him today we are joining them in demonstrating our commitment to a strong U.S. role in the protection and are of the worlds refugee population. Mr. Moore will bring to this position the personal strengths and convictions which he has demonstrated in a career of distinguished public service. Over the last 30 years. Mr. Moores work has led him from locales as far as Asia and Africa on behalf of USIA and as close as this Chamber where he labored as a legislative assistant for one of my predecessors.
