Speaker. this resolution also requests the President to urge the Soviet Government to permit Dr. Sakharov and Mrs. Bonner to freely choose their place of residence. Mrs. Bonner. who has been in the United States for medical treatment. is due to return to the Soviet Union next month. It is our fervent hope that the Soviet authorities will end the forced isolation of the Sakharovs in Gorky and allow them to return to their home in Moscow or emigrate to the United States to live with their relatives here. This resolution calls upon the President to continue his efforts toward that end. Mr.
