I remember how thrilled I was and how all my campaign supporters were to have him appear. In my district. beyond that. he is very. very important for other reasons besides civil rights legislation. He is. in fact. very responsible. if not the most responsible person. for reform in immigration laws. So many people who have seen the quota system with respect to different countries being discriminated against in the past saw a big change in the law thanks to PETER RODINos action and that Immigration Act that passed some years ago. So I think we remember him for these and other reasons. but I just wanted to pay tribute to a wonderful American. We wish him many. many more years of service in this body and certainly to our great country.
