PETER RODINO. I have served with Chairman RoDINo on the Judiciary Committee since I first came to Congress in 1959. It has been a pleasure and privilege to work with the gentleman from New Jersey on some landmark legislation through the years. most notably the historic civil rights laws of the 1960s. the difficult but important revision of the immigration laws in 1965. and more recently the successful ongoing efforts to preserve the Legal Services Corporation and the Voting Rights Act. Those who know Chairman RODINO know him to be a man of ultimate integrity and commitment. a man dedicated to the pursuit of justice. No event more exemplifies those characteristics than his leadership during the difficult impeachment hearings in 1974.
