Mr. Speaker. today I would like to honor the Orchard Lake Schools. This past year has marked the 100th anniversary of this wonderful institution. In 1885 Father Stanley Dabrowskl. who was entrusted with a papal charter. oversaw the laying of the cornerstone for the Polish Seminary in Detroits East Side. It was founded to serve the spirtual needs of the rapidly increasing number of Polish immigrants. After 2.1 years of growth. a larger location was required. The seminary was transferred to the beautiful grounds of the Michigan Military Academy in Orchard Lake. Today the school owns 120 acres. It con. sists of three distinct but reiated schools: SS.
