Session #99 · 1985–87

Speech #990134594

Mr. President. every once in a while it is important to step back and freshly appreciate the freedoms that we have in this country. This was brought home to me the other day when a Vietnamese refugee. Buu Dich of Roswell. NM. was reunited with his wife and eight children whom he had not seen in 12 years. Buu Dich worked for the American Government in Vietnam and accepted a scholarship to study in the United States. He was here when his country fell to the Communists and was not permitted to return by the new Vietnamese Government. He settled in Roswell and began the lengthy struggle to bring his family to this country.
