I am not one of those who would demand ending this countrys active participation in the United Nations I am convinced. rather. that this country and its allies should view the United Nations and its constituent organizati6ns as a challenge and as tools to shape a better world. The United Nations does important work in such areas as: medicine through the World Health Organization. rural agriculture through the International Fund for Agricultural Development and the Food and Agricultural Organization. environmental protection through the U.N. Environment Program. refugee relief through the office of the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees. and human development through the U.N. Childrens Fund and the U.N. Development Program.
