Last year. the House adopted an amendment by BARNEY FRANK of Massachusetts to provide some legal protection for persons who might face this kind of discrimination as a result of employer sanctions. Certainly. one of the groups most concerned about this kind of discrimination Is Hispanic Americans. Recently. our colleague Congressman ROBERT GARCIA of New York testified before the House Subcommittee on Immigration on this very issue. I believe that his testimony is illustrative of the concerns of Hispanics and others about the Impact of employer sanctions.
