He was sentenced to serve three years in a labor camp because he allegedly circulated "fabrications known to be false which defame the Soviet state and social system." Before the arrest. the Paritsky apartment was searched and a HebrewRussian dictionary. a Bible. a Haggadah. and English magazine. some assorted Hebrew books. a "work record" booklet. and Aleksandrs diploma were confiscated.
