Mr. Speaker. the Statue of Liberty stands at the entrance to New York Harbor as a symbol of freedom for the world. For the millions of immigrants who have entered our Nation through New York. the statue is a sign of hope that their dreams will someday be realized in their new homeland. Now 98 years old. the Statue of Liberty is badly in need of repair. Our Nations schoolchildren have taken up the cause and begun a campaign to raise a large part of the $30 million needed to restore this great national landmark. I am proud to say that students from Bauder Elementary School in Seminole.
