The United Jewish Appeal and the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies (UJA/Federation) will pay tribute to this outstanding citizen at a special breakfast in his honor on May 20. I can think of no person more deserving of this honor. As a child and young man in Nazi Germany. Sig Spiegel developed a strong sense of survival and unity of spirit with his fellow Jews. which has directed his life ever since. He escaped the horrors of Hitlers destruction of the Jewish people during the war and arrived a refugee in the United States. With great determination and talent. overcoming many obstacles. Sig became a licensed architect known and respected for his professional abilities.
