Mr. Speaker. the issue of immigration has come up once again and it is very interesting that it has come up again. But I hope you do not mind if I do not hold my breath waiting for its actual action. I was here a little over 2 years ago when we were given time from 10 at night to 2 in the morning to discuss this important issue. and because it was pushed down to the last week and 200 amendments were in order. it died of its own weight. I was here when you. Mr. Speaker. told us in October of last year that this was not a national issue. there was no national problem. there was no national constituency for it.
