Session #98 · 1983–85

Speech #980171766

We as Congressmen must encourage our constitutents to write to Moscow expressing our outrage over the countrys actions. We must let them know that the Western World will not stand for behavior such as theirs and demand its immediate suspension. One can only hope that with pressure from the remainder of the world. Secretary General Chernenko will alter the Soviet Unions disgraceful policies toward the Jews of his nation. By letting Soviet Jews know of our unfaltering commitment to their cause and by encouraging them in their efforts to emigrate. the pressure on the Soviet Union will one day be strong enough to force reform. We must work for nothing less..
