Yuri Tarnopolsky is an organic chemist who was arrested a year ago and sentenced to 3 years in a Siberian labor camp. In 1976. he and his family had applied for exit visas from the Soviet Government to emigrate to Israel. After applying for the exit visa. Dr. Tarnoposky. a renowned scientist. was not permitted to work in his field.
