The article. entitled "Testament to a Lost People." describes the work of Dr. Roman Vishniac. Dr. Vishniac was born of welltodo parents in Russia in 1897. After the Russian Revolution. he emigrated with his family to Berlin. There. in the 1920s and 1930s. Vishniac sensed the impending Holocaust. and determined that if he could not save his fellow Jews. he could try to save their memory. Taking months off at a time.
