Session #98 · 1983–85

Speech #980097553

I see no reason why Soviet students should be allowed to study in this country. No student who is allowed to leave Mother Russia to study in the United States is doing so solely for his or her academic betterment. These students are carefully screened and totally loyal to their homeland. I cannot help but believe that they are here to gather information as much as they are to study in our classes. I suggest that Soviet student visas be terminated and that we allow a special oneway flight to Moscow. I am confident they would do the same for us.
