My colleague has proposed this amendment. It is a good amendment. I have had a chance not only to visit those refugee camps. but to meet with many of the refugees who will be affected in our State. and I must say that I am deeply concerned by the Reagan policy of reducing from 36 months to 18 months the assistance for those people. It is going to mean that certain States will be providing 18 months of assistance and other States will be providing 36 months of assistance. and this is going to cause chaos in our country. The gentleman from Washington has done a good job.
