I believe it is important to once again let Soviet authorities know how deeply we care about the fate of this courageous woman. For this reason. I am introducing today. along with Mr. FRANK. a concurrent resolution calling on the Soviet Union to provide adequate medical care for Ida Nudel. and to accept her visa application and allow her to emigrate to Israel to join her relatives. We are all very heartened to hear of Idas release. and also encouraged to learn that she has been permitted to return to her old apartment in Moscow. where she will be surrounded by the friends who have so long awaited her release. Idas release is proof that American public officials can influence Soviet policy.
