Session #97 · 1981–83

Speech #970126157

This increased funding was passed by the Senate a second time when it was included in the first continuing resolution. Mr. President. I would therefore submit that the inclusion of the additional $45 million for the enforcement of immigration laws is so very critical if the Immigration and Naturalization Service is to begin making any inroads against the illegal immigration flow now rampant in this Nation. I would sincerely urge that at the very earliest opportunity in the new year. the Congress approve the full funding for the Immigration and Naturalization Service which has already passed the Senate twice and which is so strongly supported by the President and by the Attorney General.
