Speaker. I would like to take this opportunity to express my support for H.R. 2884. as introduced by my colleague. the Hon. BEN GILMAN. which authorizes domestic release of the International Communications Agency film "In Their Own Words." I am confident that this film will be of interest to the American people and will help correct some of the misconceptions surrounding refugees from Cuba. By interviewing some of the more than 100.000 Cubans who fled to the United States between April 21 and June 19. 1980. I believe the filmmakers provide the audience with a rare chance to understand the motivations of these individuals for leaving Cuba and their hopes for life in the United States.
