Mr. Speaker. our Nation is rich with ethnic and cultural diversity. As immigrants have melted into our communities. they have contributed their spirit. talents. and traditions to our national identity. As a cosponsor of House Joint Resolution 155. a bill proclaiming May 3 through May 10. 1981. "Jewish Heritage Week." I am pleased that the House passed this bill on March 26. This week would be designated primarily for educational ceremonies and activities. Last year during Jewish Heritage Week. many school systems sponsored programs on Jewish history and culture. Hebrew as a modem language. the Holocaust. and current concerns of American Jews.
