Lucys Church welcomed them. Since then. the Sisters have tended to the needs of the Newark community with saintlike dedication. I am a lifetime member of St. Lucys parish. and I can remember as a boy benefiting from the Sisters personal acts of kindness. For over three generations. the Sisters have provided friendship to the lonely and hope to the despondent. They have sheltered the homeless. taught in our schools. nursed our sick. comforted those in prison. helped the elderly and the handicapped. and assisted immigrants in adapting to American life.
