Session #97 · 1981–83

Speech #970003052

While it is the anniversary of the ending of this tragic war. it is difficult to find cause for celebration. This is particularly true for the 2.500 American families who still have relatives classified as either POWs or missing in action in Vietnam. Laos. or Cambodia. For these 2.500 Americans the tragedy of this war continues. The recent influx of refugees from this region has brought many reports of Americans continuing to be held as prisoners in Vietnam and Laos. These reports have brought hope to the families of these Americans. Yet. without knowing the status of their loved ones. these families live with uncertainty and fear on a constant basis.
