Speak.ng on behalf of the gentlewoman from Maryland I would like to ask the following questions in order to gain an understanding of section 4. subparagraphs 3 of H.R. 7273. a provision which would grant the Attorney General the discretion to allow the immigraton of certain individuals convicted of drug offenses in foreign nations. Specifically. I am interested in the answers to the following questions: Is this provision desgned to provide administrative relief to American citizen spouses and their alien spouses who are now deportable or who have been forced to live in foreign countries against their wishes and apart from their families and inlaws in the United States due to a drug conviction of the alien spouse?
