Session #96 · 1979–81

Speech #960332825

ELIZABETH HOLTZMAN is known as having one of the keenest legal minds in Congress and is absolutely indefatigable in her commitment to social concerns. LIz and I founded the Congresswomens Caucus and worked ceaselessly for the extension of the ratification of the equal rights amendment as well as for a host of issues important to women and vital to all Americans. I was made even more aware of her commitment to others when we traveled together to Cambodia to study firsthand the plight of the Cambodian refugees. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to work closely with one of the most able colleagues I know and one of the most caring persons I have ever known. Her goals and aims are an inspiration to all of us.
