First. I wish to commend my distinguished colleague. the gentleman from Florida . whose presence we are going to miss so significantly in this House after the first of the year. upon being the author of this measure in the House. generally and ably supported by his distinguished chairman. the gentleman from Kentucky and his colleague on the Education Committee. The funds previously available for assisting our boards of education in providing education to the children of the refugees were grossly inadequate. This bill was designed for the purpose of providing more adequately the funds necessary to meet the educational costs of these children. These children presumably are going to be with us the rest of their lives.
