I. too. want to commend the gentleman from California for his concern in trying to beef up our forces along the border. Our Select Committee on Narcotics not too long ago visited the border between the United States and Mexico. We went on border patrol with some of our marvelous people who are fulfilling our responsibilities along the border. We recognized how shorthanded they are in trying to do the very important job of interdicting the trafficking in illegal aliens coming across the border and at the same time trying to do something about stopping the illegal narcotics traffic across the border into the United States. We certainly need to give support in trying to get the kind of personnel to do the job in that area. Mr.
