It is a very simple statement: I am sorry to inform you that longterm refusnik Issaac Zlotver died in Sverdlovsk of Cancer on April 7. 1980. This man is unknown to most of the world and probably to most of my colleagues. We have been trying to get a visa for him and his wife for 4 years. His wife died. Now he is dead. He never was able to get out. He wanted to see his grandchildren and now he never will. He is not a Sakharov or a Solzhenitsyn or a famous person for whom the world has reverberated in sorrow and concern. not Scharansky. or Tikhy or Rudenko or one of the famous people who have suffered as he has suffered.
