It seems so isolated as though there perhaps is only one person or maybe just a few who are in such a wretched state. But. Mr. President. for hour after hour. after hour. after hour. we walked through the refugee areas on the CambodiaThailand border. For hour after hour. after hour. after hour. we saw children wizened up like little old men. children with distended stomachs. we saw people so weak that they could not get off the ground. we saw people so weak that they could not even travel 100 yards or so to get what little medical attention was available to them. We saw them by the thousands.
