An electronics engineer. 48 years of age. with a family of five. Vladimir Slepak first applied for an exit visa in February of 1969. His wife is a physician specializing in roentgenology. Since applying for a visa. Slepak has been subjected to numerous indignities typical for anyone voicing a desire to leave the Soviet Union. Since 1969. neither Slepak nor his wife nor any other member of the family has been able to obtain employment.
