ITse. who was a retired mental health nursing consultant for the State health department. served our State faithfully and with dedication to high quality heatlh care for over a generation. The history of Ilses life is a story of compassion and personal concern for her fellow man. Born in Germany she worked as a Jewish social worker helping with the emigration of Jewish families from Nazi Germany. After coming to America. she received her degree in nursing from the Louisville Jewish Hospital School of Nursing and then came to Hartford. While with the State health department. she developed the first expatient rehabilitation community program and initiated the first formal visitation program by public health nurses for returning psychiatric patients.
